These Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Heat Tech Scotland (“we”, “us”, “our”). By requesting a quotation, booking an appointment, or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Please read these Terms carefully before proceeding with any work.

1. About Us

Heat Tech Scotland provides plumbing, heating and bathroom services, including boiler servicing and repairs, boiler installations, central heating work, plumbing services, bathroom installations and landlord gas safety checks.

All gas-related work is carried out by appropriately qualified and registered engineers.

2. Quotations and Estimates

2.1 Any quotation provided by us is based on the information available at the time and, where applicable, an assessment of the property and existing systems.

2.2 Quotations are valid for the period stated on the quotation. If no validity period is specified, quotations will remain valid for 30 days.

3. Booking Appointments

3.1 Appointments are subject to availability.

3.2 We will make reasonable efforts to attend at the agreed time; however, we cannot guarantee exact arrival times due to factors outside our control, including previous jobs taking longer than expected, traffic, emergencies or supplier delays.

3.3 Customers should ensure that appropriate access is available to the property and the relevant appliances or areas requiring work.

3.4 If access cannot be provided at the agreed appointment time, we reserve the right to charge for wasted time or additional visits.

4. Cancellation and Rescheduling

4.1 If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.

4.2 We reserve the right to charge for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or where our engineer is unable to access the property.

4.3 Any cancellation charges will be communicated before being applied.

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Payment terms will be confirmed before work begins.

5.2 Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due upon completion of the work.

5.3 For larger projects, including installations or bathroom works, staged payments or deposits may be required. These will be agreed before work commences.

5.4 We reserve the right to suspend or refuse further work where outstanding payments remain unpaid.

6. Installation and Repair Work

6.1 We will carry out work with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with applicable regulations and industry standards.

6.2 Where replacement parts, materials or equipment are supplied, these may be subject to manufacturer warranties. Any warranty claims relating to supplied products may need to be handled in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty terms.

6.3 We cannot guarantee that repairs will permanently resolve faults where equipment is old, damaged, poorly maintained, or affected by issues outside the repaired component.

6.4 If an appliance or system is found to be unsafe, unsuitable, beyond economical repair, or non-compliant with current regulations, we reserve the right to recommend replacement or refuse further work.

7. Customer Responsibilities

8. Existing Faults and Hidden Issues

8.1 During repair, installation or maintenance work, additional issues may sometimes be discovered that were not visible beforehand.

8.2 We are not responsible for faults, damage or failures caused by existing conditions, poor previous workmanship, outdated systems, lack of maintenance, corrosion, leaks or defects that were not caused by our work.

8.3 Where additional work is required, we will provide advice and discuss available options before continuing wherever possible.

9. Guarantees and Workmanship

9.1 We aim to provide high-quality workmanship on all services.

9.2 Any workmanship guarantee provided by Heat Tech Scotland applies only to work carried out by us and does not cover:

10. Gas Safety and Regulations

10.1 All gas work will be carried out in accordance with relevant safety requirements and regulations.

10.2 If we identify a potentially unsafe appliance or installation, we may take appropriate action to protect occupants and property, including advising that equipment is repaired, disconnected or replaced.

11. Property Damage

11.1 We take reasonable care when carrying out work at your property.

11.2 We are not responsible for damage caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including hidden defects, existing weaknesses, deterioration, leaks or issues arising from systems that were not installed or maintained by us.

11.3 Customers should notify us as soon as possible if they believe damage has occurred as a result of our work so that we can investigate.

12. Complaints

12.1 We aim to resolve any concerns quickly and fairly.
